World Hello Day / Planting Session

Week 12: Sharing the Planet: Planting

Friendly, shy, black, brown or white - we all might be different but we're just the same. We're all citizen of the world.

November 21, is World's Hello Day.  This day is celebrated to send a message of openness and goodwill to others and the creators of this hoped this small gesture alone would demonstrate how communication can be instrumental in resolving disputes and preventing conflicts.

World Hello Day is an opportunity for everyone, all throughout the globe, to make an effort at reaching out to one another, taking steps towards world peace.

This week, we get to celebrate World Hello Day. Take a peek and enjoy the photos.

Inquiry:

The best way for children to learn about the natural world is through hands-on activities and experiences.

Last week, we made an experiment and planted grass seeds in different ways.

Experiment 1:  Seed + Water

Experiment 2: Soil + Water + Seed

Experiment 3: Soil + Seed + Water

Every day, the students check and waters the plant that Ms. Ikeda planted and the other three different experiments. It's amazing to see children's reactions and to hear their comments and observations.

This week, they get to experience and apply the knowledge they gained from Ms. Ikeda and planted the seeds themselves.
