Who We Are: My Family and Cooking 101 (Chocolate Muffins)

Week 6: Who We Are: My Family

Family plays an enormously important role in child's social and emotional development. It is profoundly important to the developmental, emotional and cognitive growth of a child.

The family is where children spend most of their learning time. The school counts, but home is more lasting over the years. It is where the closest relationships build and allow us to express ourselves (good or bad).

As they say, your mother is your first teacher and I couldn't agree more.

This week, still in our "Who We Are Unit", we talked about "My Family." We introduced our family to the class and shared the things/activities that our family likes to do.

Inquiry:

We read and relate the story about the book "Who is in a family" and "Jonathan and his Mommy."

The students guessed the family photos of their friends as I showed them one by one and they introduced the family members to the class.

Please watch the videos below as they introduced their family members to the class.

Cooking 101:

This time it's "Chocolate Muffins." Next month's cooking lesson is a pancake. The students decided to make a pancake next month. For mommies at home, you might want to spend some quality time with your child in the kitchen. Baking/cooking is one of the fun indoor activities that you can share with your children.

If you wish to try and want some recipes, please feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to share the recipes.

It's ready! Time to put into the oven!

Finished product! Well done Preschool 3! It was yummy!!!

In our Math lesson, we picked a number card, counted the buttons of different shapes according to the numbers we picked and inserted it into the lace. We traced number "2" as well.

Language:

This week, it's uppercase and lowercase letter Cc and its sound. We didn't just trace and colored but we painted and cut a caterpillar as well! It was fun to paint outside but it was really windy though.

Vocabulary words: car, cat, caterpillar, clock, computer, and cookie.

C is for Caterpillar!

Board Activity: Matching the picture to its word.

Testing the children's ability, for the second time they did a great job!

P.E.

We did our usual warm-up stretching and went through our Floor Session Activity. This week, we tackled the word "around". We learnt and used some PMP equipment like "body rocker", "individual rocker" and the "launch board" to test and work on our balance skills.
