Who We Are: Five Senses (Seeing and Hearing)

Week 8: Who We Are: Five Senses (Seeing and Hearing)

Senses allow us to observe and understand the world around us.

The outside world shapes children's development through experiences that they have. Drawing their attention to the five senses and discussing them increases understanding of and communication about the world around us.

This week, we talked about Five Senses and our focus senses are seeing and hearing.

Seeing
When children play games that involve sight. They are practicing early literacy skills. Sight games help children recognize words, patterns, objects and help them develop their memory.

Hearing
Children use their ears to take in information about things around them. Like other skills that children learn, listening takes practice. Developing good listening habits helps children get important information from family members, teachers, friends, and coaches, among others.

Inquiry:

We usually start our lesson with an icebreaker activity. The objective of this activity is to review the previous lesson to assess student's learning. In this activity, the students sit in a circle. Once the music plays, the students pass the ball around. The student who holds the ball when the music stops will name one body part.

They were asked to cover their eyes and walk around.

They were asked to cover their ears and walk around (the teacher gave instructions in a low tone of voice.)

Then, the following questions were unlocked.
